Senator Mark Dayton Presented with Biodiesel Lifetime Achievement Award

WASHINGTON, D.C. – The National Biodiesel Board (NBB) today presented Sen. Mark Dayton (D-MN) with the Biodiesel Lifetime Achievement Award for his commitment to renewable biodiesel and domestic energy security. Thanks in large part to his efforts, biodiesel has become a commercial success nationally and in Minnesota.

Doubling ethanol requirement makes sense for economy

Development Authority Evaluating Biodiesel for New Commuter Rail System

February 4, 2005 -- The Northstar Corridor Development Authority (NCDA) in Minnesota is studying the feasibility of using biodiesel for operations of the proposed Northstar Commuter Rail service. The Prairie Line in Redwood County, Minnesota, a short-line railroad, is using a B2 blend in its engines.

The NCDA study will determine whether biodiesel can meet the operating standards while maintaining the financial viability of the Northstar project within Federal Transit Administration (FTA) requirements.

Senate Passes 2012 E20 Mandate

St. Paul -- The State Senate on Monday passed a bill to double the amount of ethanol required in gasoline sold in Minnesota, although the conversion would be far down the road.

Under current law all gas sold in the state must have at least 10-percent ethanol content. The Senate bill, which passed on a 54-12 bipartisan vote after a quick debate, would boost that to 20 percent by 2012.
